Creating Pathways to Safer Futures.
Wirkung Health Uganda works with street-connected children and youth in Kisenyi, Kampala, providing care, support and opportunities to help them move toward safer and more hopeful futures.
Many of the children we meet face challenges such as poverty, family separation, poor living conditions, illness and abuse. Through our program, we provide a safe space where they can receive support, encouragement and care.
What We Do.
Counselling & Mentorship. We provide counselling, guidance and mentorship while helping children think about their choices and future.
Basic Healthcare. Children receive basic medical care, with follow-up support at nearby clinics when necessary.
Nutritious Meals. We provide meals to support children affected by hunger and poor living conditions.
Games & Recreation. Dance, games and recreational activities create opportunities for children to have fun, connect and express themselves.
Hygiene & Sanitation. We provide education on personal hygiene, sanitation and healthy practices.
Education & Sponsorship. Where possible, we support pathways to education and sponsorship opportunities.
Family Reconnection. When possible, we work toward reconnecting children with their families or finding appropriate options to keep them safe.
